Role summary
As Caruso grows its fund administration and registry business across Australia, compliance is becoming a genuine competitive advantage, not just a checkbox. This is a hands-on compliance role at the heart of our operations, where you'll help ensure the platform, our services, and our clients all meet their regulatory obligations. You'll work across AML/CTF, registry compliance, regulatory reporting, and policy, with real exposure to the full lifecycle of a modern private markets fund.
You'll sit within the Fund Administration team and work closely with Investor Services and operations stakeholders day-to-day. You'll report to the Head of Fund Administration and be a key point of contact for compliance guidance across the business.
What you'll do
- Own AML/CTF monitoring across investor onboarding and ongoing reviews, including FATCA and CRS obligations, ensuring processes are current, well-documented, and audit-ready.
- Prepare compliance and regulatory reporting relevant to registry services, keeping the business aligned with ASIC and other applicable frameworks.
- Manage breach and incident reporting end-to-end, including remediation tracking, root cause analysis, and escalation where required.
- Draft, maintain, and improve policies and procedures across registry operations and fund administration, keeping them practical and usable.
- Support internal audits and compliance control testing, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement rather than reactive firefighting.
- Complete due diligence questionnaires and governance documentation for clients and institutional counterparties.
- Provide compliance guidance and training to operational stakeholders, translating regulatory requirements into clear guidance that teams can actually act on.
- Contribute to shaping how compliance works at Caruso as we scale, including how AI can support monitoring, reporting, and documentation workflows.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of compliance experience within financial services, with direct exposure to fund administration, trustee services, or financial services registry.
- Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF obligations, FATCA, and CRS, and how these apply in a registry and investor servicing context.
- Solid understanding of registry operations and investor onboarding processes, including what good looks like across documentation, verification, and ongoing review.
- Confident communicator: you can explain regulatory requirements clearly to non-compliance colleagues and write policy and procedure documents that people actually use.
